Hello my friends,
This week has been a week of miracles, a week of prayer, a week of
tears. However, it has also felt like two days since I last emailed.
Canada turns 150 years old this week, happy happy birthday to the true
north, strong and freee!
Again with miracles, sister Ard always says when we are in a crisis,
"Sister Fisher, pray for a miracle because every time you do, it
happens."
It's crazy.. because it happens.
For example,
Brother Anderson (single dad in the ward, his wife just recently
passed away) called us to come help him out with handing out flyers
for the food drive that happened this last week; the only problem is
we had a lesson with a less active couple the same time as he was
asking to come help. We prayed about it and felt like going with Bro.
Anderson was the best choice because he was just having a difficult
time. So we cancelled with the less actives, went to a lesson with our
investigator Ryan, and didn't think much about it. Long story short,
Bro. Anderson cancelled on us by poking his head in the room we
teaching him and says, "sister's I don't need help anymore."
So by the time we finished with Ryan's lesson, we were like, "Well
let's see if they can still meet." Because they never text us back. So
we text them and kinda wait for a little bit, but we either needed to
teach a lesson or go to work, so we prayed & asked for a miracle that
we would be able to either to hear back from her in a minute & teach a
lesson or be able to hear back & then go out to work. I kid you not,
not even 30 seconds later we get a text back that confirmed we should
go out & work. And we found a new potential! Awesome!
Another huge miracle we had this week was when we drove 30 minutes to
a supper appointment that we had confirmed with... and she wasn't
there.... awkward, well sister Ard and I are completely out of money
for the month and we were running low on food, so we decided to
basically get little by little what we had left, which was probably
something like lettuce & gluten free rice crackers when she calls us
and says meet me at No Frills (grocery store commonly found throughout
Canada). So we get to no frills and she proceeds to take us grocery
shopping & at the end gives us another $40 dollars and says, "you need
it more than me." I almost started crying. I was so happy to be able
to have a miracle like that because we were working our hearts out to
find people to bring people closer to the Saviour.
Another tender mercy this week, we were once again out on the reserve
in the Montana band. And the reserve is funny because there is NO
street signs, they just barely got house numbers, so you just have to
go find people by directions. It's so hard. We are definitely not
familiar with the Montana Band either! So that was a struggle trying
to find where our investigator moved to when the directions are:
1. Go to the four way stop & turned left
2. You will see a post office & drug store on the left, keep going.
3. Then you will see a school keep going.
4. Go to the second four way stop, turn right.
5. The greyish brown house is where the (this is an actual last name)
Standing On The Roads live.
So after an hour or so of running up and down knocking on sketchy
houses, talking to children about where these people live; we decided
to go to the Samson Band, because that's where all our friends live.
We had prayed for a miracle to happen because we know that this
investigator is so ready for the Gospel, & LOW & BEHOLD, LORI (the
investigator we were trying to find) IS AT THE OTHER INVESTIGATORS
HOUSE! Miracles I am telling you happen all of the time!
It's funny how miracles work. Small things really do bring about great
things, I love this work and I love the Lord.
