August 16, 2016 #YEGmormon

Wow! This week has been wonderful!

Sister Andrus and I have been doing great and I have loved getting all
of your responses! I truly appreciate them!
Earlier this week we were teaching a less active member who is moving
into our ward and it was so great! Okay there is a member in our ward
named Orestes! He is seriously the most Christ-like person I have ever
met, and is always willing to come to appointments with us! So while
we were teaching this LA (wane), Orestes had a mosquito on his cheek.
Wayne commented then turns to Orestes and says "You have a mosquito on
your face, just letting you know."
Orestes says back to him "Yes I know, but I am just going to leave it
there because 2 reasons. Number one, the mosquitos that actually bite
are females; if I were to smush it, I would be killing a mother... And
I don't want to kill someone that has kids. And number two, they
balance out some forces in nature."
Okay. I just want to let everyone know that I about broke out into
laughter and tears at this moment because it was just so touching.
But Wane has been coming to activities and to church, so that is great!

also earlier in the week, we got a text from our investigator,
Stephen, that asked if we could come to this open house for his
business but to come a bit early so we could have a conversation about
baptism.
Sister Andrus and I started freaking out and started making a list of
all the possible things that he could have a problem with.
So we text him back asking if he had any concerns, and he said
"not concerns, more like I should do it."
WHAT THE WHAT?!??
We are meeting with him this week so we can teach him the WoW and set
an actual date for him:):):)
Our other progressing investigator, Sara, has also been doing well! We
gave her a WoW pamphlet to read, and when she came to church this week
she told us that she gave up tea so she can be living the Word of
Wisdom!:) YESSSSSSSS. Sara is so dedicated to the Gospel! It is so
great to see!

So about this #YEGmormon thing going on. The Book of Mormon musical is
coming back to Edmonton (boo) and last year they did a huge social
media blitz where members went out with the missionaries for an entire
day basically filming everything they do. So we are doing that again,
which sister Andrus and I are pretty excited for. I am really excited
to see how this works out because the video from last year is pretty
cool!
If you would want to look at it, it is on YouTube under #YEGmormon
It went viral, so basically I'm gonna be famous in a few weeks. (Lol psych)

CRAZY MIRACLE OF THE WEEK (at least one of them)
So Sister Andrus and I went to visit a less active (Alexa) because one
of our appointments fell through!
We were planning on sharing some scriptures about overcoming trials
because she is going through some difficult times right now.
So we showed her a Mormon Message, and then we were talking to her
about God's love for her. We were going to share a scripture in 1
Nephi with her, but then we pull out our iPads and start looking up
another scripture. Okay, this is where it gets crazy.
We both looked at each other and said "I'm not sharing the scripture
we talked about."
Then WE FREAKING HAD THE SAME SCRIPTURE IN MIND.
What the what?!??!!
The Lord works in mysterious ways.:)
I have absolutely been loving missionary work! It is the best ever!

Also another funny Orestes moment.
We were helping Wane move yesterday, and after we went and got
screamers (knock off Zeppes)
Sister Andrus asks Orestes, "Are you more like your mom or your dad, Orestes?"
He says, "I'm more like Christ."
I bust out in laughter.😂😂😂
He is a convert and he is great.

Well, I love you all so much!:)
